The Town of Payson is continuing its partnership with Gila County to offer the Summer Youth Employment Program, providing local youth with hands-on experience in municipal government.

Through this six-week program, running June 1 through July 10, 2026, four participants will be placed in various Town departments where they will gain practical job skills, explore potential career paths, and contribute to daily operations. Departments benefit as well, gaining extra support and fresh perspectives during the busy summer season.

Since 2018, this collaboration has helped connect young people with meaningful work opportunities while supporting workforce development in the community. Gila County funds the program, reimbursing the Town for participant wages.

The Town looks forward to welcoming this year’s interns and continuing to invest in the next generation of local professionals.

Applications must be submitted by May 19, 2026.
