Business Licensing
Who Should Apply for a Business License?
The Town of Payson requires all persons conducting business within Town limits to obtain a Town-issued Business License unless otherwise exempt under Payson Town Code.
Please review the categories below to determine which license applies to your business.
Commercial Business Licenses are for all commercial businesses located within the Town of Payson limits.
Retail stores, restaurants, offices, and businesses operating regularly within Payson “Store-Front” must apply for this license.
Home Based Business owners conducting business from a Payson home office.
Freelancers, such as graphic designers or consultants, operating a home office and online sellers managing e-commerce stores from their residences should apply for this license.
Out-of-Town Business Licenses are for businesses located outside of Payson that conduct business within Town limits.
Contractors and service providers performing work within Payson but headquartered elsewhere must apply for this license.
Temporary & Event Vendor Business Licenses
Temporary & Event Vendor Business Licenses apply to short-term or event-based business activity within the Town of Payson, including:
- Vendors participating in special events, festivals, or fairs
- Contractors performing one-time or short-duration work
- Businesses operating in Payson for a limited number of days
Temporary licenses are valid only for the approved dates or duration of activity (Limited to 14 days)
Farmers Market vendors - Payson Farmers Market Info
General/Commercial: $85-initial/$60-renewal
Home Occupation: $50
Out of Town: $85-initial/$85-renewal
Temporary: $30 (Limited to 14-Days)
Peddlers/Mobile Food Vendor: $90-initial/$70-renewal (with an additional $20 per employee)
All licenses are valid for one year unless noted otherwise. All fees are non-refundable .
